Around the World In 4 Days 6-10

Instructor:

From Australian dot paintings to Chinese fans, we will travel around the world learning about cultures and how they express their creativity. Track your exploration in your art journal as you explore history and culture through art. Discover animals, music and old-time stories that have shaped the arts and crafts of different corners of our world.

Animal Kingdom 6-10

Instructor: Leanne McQueen

Are you obsessed with creating animals in art? Then get ready, this is a camp full of

unique animal projects. Using real-life animals and our imagination, we will find

inspiration from under the sea, in the jungle, the deep forest and the wild plains of Africa. We will draw paint, sculpt and use mixed medias to make all sorts of creatures come to life!

Outdoor Explorers: 6-10

Instructor: Allison Payne

This summer camp will consist of delightfully colorful projects with inspiration from many Impressionist greats including Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir, Cezanne and more. Students will explore our immediate area, where they’ll learn how to paint subjects outdoors “en plein air”. All the projects they take home from this camp will be colorful keepsakes.

Crazy Crafts: 6-10

Instructor:

This camp is centralized on the exploration of a wide variety of art mediums - you won’t find a camp more freeing and intuitive than this one! We will explore what abstract art means through dripping art intentionally like Jackson Pollock, or losing ourselves in the swirling colors of a fluid paint pour project. We will talk about composition and color theory, then put our new knowledge to the test by creating mixed media sculptures. This camp is full of sensory assignments for students who love getting messy and free with art.

POP! Comic Art 6-10

Instructor: Allison Payne

POW! SWISH! WHAM! Do you love colorful cartoon comic characters and superheros? So did famous Pop Art artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Romero Britto, and Keith Haring! In this camp you will make artwork that POPS! We’ll do comic-book style drawings and paintings, as well as 3D creations that burst with color and energy. Explore the art of putting together elements of a comic book: panels, ballons, characters, and symbols. We’ll even cartoonify our own self-portrait in a Pop Art style!
